Donald Trump, U.S. Republican Presidential candidate, on Monday hinted that he may have a poor relationship with British Prime Minister, David Cameron, if he became America’s president later this year.
Trump said in Washington during an
interview that there was every indication that there would be no cordial
or smooth relationship between the two of them.
“It looks like we’re not going to have a
very good relationship, who knows. I hope to have a good relationship
with him, but it sounds like he’s not willing to address the problem
either,” he said.
Earlier in the year, Cameron had said
that Trump’s call for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the U.S. was
“divisive, unhelpful and quite simply, wrong.”
Trump during the interview also criticised London’s new Muslim mayor, Sadiq Khan, for making very rude statements about him.
Khan had said that Trump’s plan to ban
Muslims reflected his “ignorant view of Islam” and could make both
nations less safe by “alienating mainstream Muslims.”
