Akwa United get N4million Cash for Victory

Players and officials of Akwa United smiled back to their hotel last night with a handsome cash of N4m for their 2-1 victory over Lobi Stars of Makurdi in the final of the Federation Cup played in Lagos.
A breakdown of the amount shows that the players earned N2m from the State governor, Emmanuel Udom who prom­ised the players a N1m for every goal and $10, 000 cash given the players at half time by Senator Godswill Akpabio, a former governor of the state.
According to the coach of the team, Zakary Baraje, the prom­ise indeed spurred the players to go all out and make history in the Cup final.
