The Independent National Electoral
Commission has said there is no going back on the planned Kogi State
governorship supplementary election scheduled for December 5.
As a mark of its preparedness, the commission said it had prepared its supplementary budget for the election.
The commission’s Deputy Director of Voters Education and Publicity, Mr.
Nick Dazang in an interview with Punch in Abuja on Saturday said that
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has maintained that
the planned Kogi State governorship supplementary election scheduled for
December 5 will take place.
He said:
“We are prepared for the election and we are not thinking of either postponing it or cancelling it. In fact, we have prepared a supplementary budget for the election.
“The budget is for the conduct of the election and it will cover expenses such as accommodation, allowance and other logistics for the election.”
He said the budget has already been submitted to the commission’s chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
