Appeal Court upholds Dino Melaye’s election

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja this morning upheld the election of Dino Melaye as the Senator representing Kogi East Senatorial district in the senate. ,

Smart Adeyemi has lost his bid to unseat Senator Dino Melaye at the Court of Appeal in Abuja.

Adeyemi filed a suit at the Appeal Court after the State Tribunal Elections Petition Tribunal upheld the March 28, 2015 Senatorial election in favour of Melaye.

While the former Senator was the flag bearer for the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, Melaye was the All Progressives Congress candidate in the senatorial polls.

 The court in its ruling struck out Adeyemi’s suit on the ground that it lacks merit.
